Tonal Drift is the brainchild of ambient maestro Mark Hollomon, a musical voyage that embarked upon the sonic seas in 2021. Crafting ethereal soundscapes that transport listeners to distant realms, Tonal Drift’s music is a cinematic journey through the vast expanse of emotions and imagination.In 2022, Tonal Drift made its resonant debut with the release of the EP “Natura,” a collection of mesmerizing compositions that laid the foundation for the project’s unique sonic identity. With “Natura,” Mark Hollomon revealed his prowess in painting auditory landscapes that evoke a deep connection with the natural world and the human experience.Building upon the success of “Natura,” Tonal Drift’s next release, “Flotsam,” offered an even more immersive auditory experience. That album took listeners on a sonic odyssey through the ebb and flow of life’s tides. The evocative textures and emotive melodies within “Flotsam” capture the essence of human existence, with each track an introspective reflection on the human journey.This brings us up to date and Mark’s debut album for monochrome motif. Inspired by Vangelis, Kraftwerks, John Williams, and Thomas Bergersen, “Textures” is an exploration of various, sonic textures ranging from electronica in “Frame Drag” to cinematic in “Eternal Fire” with side trips and mixtures. However, running through it all is a thread of orchestral sound woven in.
